Stunning new footage of police officers gunning down a Michigan has surfaced, raising questions about the officers’ intent.
Stunning new footage of six police officers gunning down a Michigan man in an intense, five-second burst of 46 shots was made public Friday, setting off fierce reaction from members of a community still grappling with the incident.
"I'm stunned that six human beings would stand in front of one human being and fire 46 shots," victim Milton Hall’s mother, Jewel, told CNN.
Hall, 49, was shot dead three days before the Fourth of July. He had been wielding a knife outside a shut-down Chinese restaurant in the town of Saginaw, arguing with police.
"I ain't putting s--t down," he tells officers on the video, also expressing little fear of a police dog present at the time.
“Let him go. Let the motherf---ing dog go," he says in the moments before his death.
Police soon line up, firing on Hall, who falls to the left side of the screen as traffic stops.
Saginaw County Prosecutor Michael Thomas told CNN that Hall had been “threatening to assault police,” and Gerald Cliff, the town’s police chief, said Hall was "known to be an assaultive person."
While authorities have begun an investigation of the incident, Hall’s friends and family remain frustrated by its slow pace.
"It appeared to be a firing squad dressed in police uniforms," Jewel Hall told CNN. "There was another way. They did not have to kill him. He had not done anything. He was not violent. He was not a murderer. He was not a criminal."
The mother also said her son was mentally ill.
Saginaw City Councilman Norman Braddock has said that the Hall investigation needs to be prioritized.
"I can see what people are traumatized at, looking at something like that," Braddock told the news source. "We need answers."
This again was an overkill! They could have shot him in the leg! Makes you wonder who is the murders! This is a Godless Generation. These are the reasons why Gods Judgement is on this nation.This was murder and they will reap what they have sown. Whatever a man soweth that shall he also reap. They shall see with there own eyes there children done as they have done to the many Innocent souls. They are the murders!
